Carriage Oaks backs up to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park - a 2,965 acre National Battlefield that preserves a Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign. Opposing forces maneuvered and fought here from June 19, 1864 until July 2, 1864. 
 
 
 
The Marietta Square, just two miles east of Carriage Oaks, is the place shop, eat or be entertained.  There is something for everyone, boasting over 30 restaurants, quaint boutiques, weekly farmers markets, and annual festivals.  
 
Just a little further down the road, yet still in Cobb County, is the new SunTrust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. Anchored by SunTrust Park, The Battery Atlanta is a sports and entertainment experience unlike any other.
